Spike is a data-inspired collaborator and leader with a focus on tech for good, government transparency, and public policy. In his role as Alluma’s Chief Data Officer, he’s building out a data practice for the entire organization, from data governance to business intelligence.

Committed to using data for transparency and civic innovation, he has worked as the Data Evangelist for Measures for Justice, a national research and transparency nonprofit seeking to publish metrics on the entire justice system. He was the co-founder and Executive Director of OpenOakland, a civic innovation and open government nonprofit; his work was recognized by the Obama White House as a Champion of Change. He spent over a decade as the Director of Research & Technology with Urban Strategies Council and has a chapter published in the book Beyond Transparency.
